With the year progressing the german TOP-Kart crew made the first big win for this season in the prestigious ROTAX Max Challenge.
After four wins in this season, Louis Henkefeld was the favourite to win the Mini-Cup class and with two rounds to go, a solid performance was the main goal. But the difficult track of Wittgenborn and the close competition challenged him a lot.
Despite good practice performance the qualifying was dissapointing with a huge gap to the pole position. For the prefinal the team made some adjustments and Louis had a great comeback finishing fifth, preparing for the final attack.
In the final race he showed his skills getting fastest lap and improving to second place.
Now there was time for the calculator. After a short time of waiting the redeeming moment came. Louis Henkefeld is the 2012 ROTAX Mini Max Champion.
